Mrs. Lois J Rogers' Obituary
In loving memory, Lois Jeanette Taylor Rogers, 82, of Dallas, Texas. Lois passed peacefully and went
to be with her Lord and Savior on February 7th, 2024, at 6 pm in McKinney, Texas. She was
surrounded by family in her last days after battling cancer and Alzheimer’s.
Known to many as Cissy, Mom, and Grammy, Lois Rogers was a nurturer at her core with an
abundance of love to share with all she encountered. To know her, was to know the love of Jesus.
She touched many hearts with her warm hospitality and generosity. She was going to take care of
you, whether you wanted it or not – it was just who she was and she didn’t know any other way.
Lois loved music and she and Richard could often be found watching and listening to Gospel Music
and often took road trips and even went on 3 cruises to see their favorite performers in person.
Lois was born on October 14, 1941, to Homer M. and Lois A. Taylor in Dallas, Texas. It was at Crozier
Technical High School where Lois met her future husband, Richard “Mike” Rogers. He was involved
in sports and Lois was a cheerleader. They quickly became intertwined and built a beautiful life and
family together. Lois and Richard went on to have 2 children, Cheryl, and Phil.
As a natural caregiver, Lois had a passion for caring for children and even had her own child
development center, Sonshine Corners, where the children called her “Rogers”. It was here where
she touched so many lives and made a lasting impact. Many friends and children from the daycare
have described her as loving, caring, special, one-of-a-kind, and even an angel.
In 2007, Lois retired from Plano Independent School District as Payroll Manager. She enjoyed
spending time with her family members, cooking her Taylor family recipes, and volunteering in the
children’s clothing ministry at First Baptist Church in Athens, Texas.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Taylor; sister-in-law, Delores Taylor;
nephew, Mark Taylor; and great-niece, Lauren Moore. She is survived by her husband of 63 years,
Richard Rogers; daughter, Cheryl Fischer and husband, James; son, Phil Rogers and wife, Felicia;
brothers, Gary Taylor, David Taylor and wife Patricia, and Tim Taylor; grandchildren Taylor Fischer,
Laci Fischer, Sarah Rogers McDaniel, Chelbi Fischer Hash, Rachel Rogers, and Alyssa Rogers; 3
great-grandchildren; Bowen and Weston Hash and Karsyn Heatherly. She also leaves numerous
nieces and nephews.
Lois was a woman who was always there for her family and friends, ready to offer a prayer, a hug or
a piece of advice. She will truly be missed and has left an impact on the world she has left behind.
Services will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Restland Memorial Chapel,
13005 Greenville Ave in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00PM until 8:00PM,
Friday, February 23, 2024, at Restland Funeral Home.
