Lonnie Gene Diedering Jr.'s Obituary
Lonnie Diedering, Jr., age 61, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, with his wife and son by his side holding his hands.
Lonnie was born on August 25, 1964, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Lonnie and Yvonne Diedering.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne Diedering; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim Frederick and Pam Alverson. He is survived by his father, Lonnie Diedering; his loving wife of 34 years, Denise (Frederick) Diedering; and his son, Ryan Diedering.
He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Phillips (Todd) and Tami Norrell (Rodney); his mother-in-law, Jane Frederick; his brothers-in-law, Howard Frederick (Leigh) and Stephen Rector ( Mandy ); and his sister-in-law, Christy Georgeson (Ray). He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews: Evan Phillips, Sydney Norrell-Layne, Zack Langley, Nikolas Frederick, Noah Rector, Elijah Rector, Luke Prevette, Adam Prevette, Jeremy Poole, Carmen Sigala, and Grace Brooks; as well as his great-nieces, Julia and Parker, and great-nephew, Liam.
Known as “Scooter” to his family, Lonnie was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and could often be found wearing one of his many Cowboys shirts. He especially loved family vacations, particularly cruising with his parents, sisters, and their families. Lonnie was a dedicated father who proudly coached many of Ryan’s sports teams while he was growing up.
Lonnie spent his long career in accounting and was most recently employed by Reddy Ice in Dallas. Besides his love for the Dallas Cowboys, Lonnie was known for his wicked sense of humor. He was a true friend to many and was always loyal to those he loved.
He will be remembered for his humor, loyalty, and the love he had for his family and friends. Above all, Lonnie was a devoted husband, proud father, and loving son and brother who treasured time with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, in the Wildwood Chapel.
A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Restland Event Center, located at 9220 Restland Road, Dallas, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
