Louis Cromer Stiff's Obituary
Louis Cromer Stiff, 90, of Lewisville, Texas passed away on January 10, 2021.
He was born to parents Louis Alexander Stiff and Zona Mae Cromer in McKinney, Texas. Lou’s mother Zona passed away when he was young, and he was raised by Nellie Faye Woods.
Lou is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia Andrews Stiff. He is also survived by his 4 children, David Stiff and wife Renae, Larry Stiff and wife Allison, daughters Debbie Stewart and Tara Stiff. He has 5 grandchildren, Alexander and Matthew Stiff, Amanda, Miranda, and Tracy Barton, and a great granddaughter Adalynn Rose Stiff. He is also survived by his cousin Patty Bloodworth of Oklahoma.
Lou served in the National Guard for 12 years. He had 2 successful long-term careers serving the City of Dallas. Lou was a Senior Health Inspector in Dallas for 32 years and then went on to work for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department as a Detention Officer for 25 years. He retired at the age of 82.
Lou was passionate about his work. He was dedicated, loyal, admired and well respected. He was a man of good moral character with integrity. His demeanor was reserved but firm, along with a great sense of humor. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, roller skating, traveling on trains, and spending time with his German Shepherd Tony, who also rode along on his motorcycle with him.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 at 12pm at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, followed by a burial service at DFW National Cemetery at 2:30pm. There will be visitation services held at Restland Funeral Home on Sunday, February 7, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00pm.
