Mae and I were friends and neighbors at Hometowne and I did not know she had passed away until I found her obituary today. The memorial tribute was beautiful. We did not see one another often, especially during the pandemic, but I enjoyed our brief greetings in the hall and she always had a smile on her face. Mae will be missed by many. - Nell Watkins

I recall talking to Mama and she told me that she wanted some cookies and I said okay I'll bake you some cookies, I begged her a small box of cookies and she ate the whole thing in about 2 weeks her favorites where chocolate chip with pecans. So when the holidays came she would always be looking for a desert with pecans in her favorites
