Margaret Helen Black's Obituary
Midge was born on July 7, 1924 in Boston, MA. to Dr. Samuel Monroe Graves & Wilhelmina Graves. She died September 28, 2015 in Houston, Texas at home with family. She grew up in Wellesley Hills, MA. Attended Syracuse University and was a 1947 graduate of Boston Children’s Hospital School of Nursing. She was a longstanding member and Elder at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas. Her primary interest was doing something of value outside the church walls and helping people in need. She chaired many volunteer projects and was most proud of her work involving the Way-Back House; annual blood drive and Christmas Food Basket Programs. Midge was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert S. (Bob) Black and her five siblings. She is survived by her four children, James Black and wife, Kathleen; Eric Black and wife, Marcia; Peter Black and wife Sughanda; and Sharon Black-Greene and husband Ed Greene. Also surviving her are three grandchildren} Robin and Scott Greene and Heidi Black Helm as well as two great grandchildren, Cody and Sara Helm and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 2:00PM at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Presbyterian Hollow Presbyterian Church’s Senior Pastor’s Discretionary Fund.
