Margaret E. Cox's Obituary
After a difficult battle with the Coronavirus and Pneumonia, Margaret E. Cox passed away on September 4, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Gerard, Kansas to Sherman and Mary Ruth (Shea) Salyer on March 3, 1940; she went to school in Carthage, Missouri and after graduation moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she lived until moving to Dallas, Texas in 1962. She worked and retired as an Executive Assistant and Accountant for Transwestern Exploration in Dallas.
Margaret married and had three children: Doug, Kathi and Terry Cox. She was a strong dedicated mother to her children. Her children were her life. Once they moved from the home and started having their own children, Margaret became “Nana” to all her grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother and father, three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son Doug (Teresa) Cox of Dallas, Kathi (Jimmy) Hughes of Blanchard OK and Terry (Michelle) Cox of Mesquite, TX. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family has entrusted Restland Funeral Home with the memorial services which will be held at the Wildwood Chapel of Restland Cemetery. Services to be held on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 2:00pm. Pastor Eugene Weldon will be officiating.
