Margaret Edwina Syx's Obituary
Edwina Syx was born in Birmingham, Alabama to Edward Franklin Syx and Thelma Marie Moore Syx. Her family moved to Dallas, Texas at the age of 13. She attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and graduated in 1970 with a BBA. She subsequently received her CPA certification and worked and lived in Houston, Texas as a CPA for Enron Corporation until she returned to her parents’ home in Dallas and there she lived for the remainder of her life. She continued her CPA work for Fox Byrd & Company throughout the rest of her career. Edwina was a cancer survivor and a fighter as she continued to work and remained independent, caring for her cats and enjoying a good game of bridge. Edwina was beloved by her family and they enjoyed many family gatherings together. She is survived by brother-in-law, Everson E. Grall, nephew Kirk Grall and partner Tim Kelly; nieces Sharon Alexander and partner Ronny Vann, and Charlene Grall; great-nephew Michael Daley and wife Mandy; great-grand nieces Madison, Macy, Mary Jane and great-grand nephew Mark.A memorial celebration of her life will be held at the home of Sharon Alexander, 1315 Alto Drive, Richardson, Texas 75081, on December 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Cat Network of Miami, Florida (http://thecatnetwork.org/) or the SPCA of Dallas, Texas (https://www.spca.org/).
