Judy,
I only just learned of Mario’s passing and I’m heartbroken. Mario’s devotion to you, David and Jackson became clear to us shortly after we met. His desire to serve others was clear, too.
Wayne and I embarked on remodeling knowing it could be as miserable for us as it’s been for others we know. Then we met Mario, who was a pleasure to work with and who made the entire process easy and pleasant.
The remodeling he did throughout our home transformed it into a place we love living. None of my ideas were too hard for Mario to make come true for us. We not only had a wonderful general contractor, but a great friend in Mario.
Mario’s life truly honored and glorified God, and we were blessed to know him. We are so very sorry for you, David, Jackson and your loved ones, and can only imagine how much you miss Mario. May God flood your lives with His peace and comfort.

Soon after meeting Mario I learned not to say "I wish" or "I want" too often to him because he would make it his mission to make my "wish" or "want" come true, helping others was one of his favorite things to do. Mario loved and took pride in his family, and his many friends. I am grateful to him for being so kind and helpful to me and my girls, but even more grateful to him for how happy he made my sister for the last forty years. You have left a big hole in our heart Mario, and you will never be forgotten by those of us who love you.

As a fairly new resident of Mario's neighborhood, and one who is gone much of the time, I did not know Mario well. Reading about him made me regret that. However, I am well aware of his work in our community. Because my kitchen window faces the park, I would see him at work from time to time. My favorite memory is watching him paint one of the red benches. I thought at the time - "What a great color choice! And what a great guy who would give his time so freely!" Honestly - may his tribe increase. Our world is made kinder and more beautiful by people like him. My prayers are with Judy and his family during these difficult days.

In our short time as Mario's neighbors, we grew to admire his dedication to the neighborhood and HOA. I am certain that this commitment to others is just a small example of his life's work. He will surely be missed by his neighbors, even those like us who had but a handful of opportunities to enjoy his company.

Every time that I walk my daughter to the community pool she points to and comments on the Del Puerto's beautiful back patio, surely an oeuvre that is peppered with Mario's finger prints. From here on, I will make sure we continue to notice the beauty of "Mario's patio." Most importantly, I will use it as a reminder to myself and my children that service to others is the gate through which happiness walks.

Thank you for the lasting example of how to live the good life, neighbor.

With great pain in my heart, I must announce the board that Mario Del Puerto had a stroke today and passed a few minutes ago. No further information had been provided, so if someone has more details, kindly let us know.

We lost an active, creative, and dedicated neighbor, a loyal friend and an unreplaceable husband and father. Every corner of the park, the lights, the red benches, the impeccable pool will help us remember him and his legacy.

God will be happy to have him beautifying heaven.

This summer the All Saints Men’s Club took a few projects to upgrade the appearance of the church courtyard. One project was to replace the planters. Mario led the effort and bought 4 big planters, painted them red, and we planted bright and beautiful flowers. He was really proud how they looked!

So every time you go to All Saints Church, look out or walk through the courtyard and think of Mario when you see the bright red planters.

My heart sunk when I received the notice from the Men's Club of Mario's passing. He was such a true friend to all who met him, and such a strong servant to his Lord and faith. His infectious laugh and jokes made him someone you wanted to be around, and someone you looked for during our monthly meetings. And he was the grill master. In fact, the first time I met Mario was at a Men's Club retreat at Todd Upson's Rockin' U ranch, and he was running the grill making lunch for all in attendance. He was one of a kind, and all who knew him will miss him deeply.

Marcia and I extend our heartfelt sympathy to Judy, David and Jackson for their loss. We will miss him.

So many memories come to mind. Mario was a true friend and a warm, generous person. I will miss his welcoming smile and hugs. I can see him now in Heaven cooking his famous chicken wings for all the saints and finding projects that will make everything look better. Mario was an inspiration to us all to do our best to make the world a better place.
