Marlene was a gracious and delightful person. I was an attorney at Passman Jones for all the years she was there. I occasionally gave her projects, and she would do far more than just type fast. She was the best proof reader I knew. She cared about spelling and content. Must have been tough being her kid (think homework assignments). She did not hesitate to suggest edits to my work, which made it a better product. I too was a recipient of Marlene's love and generosity and wise advice that she would give me when I needed it, she could always tell when I was sad and she'd come over to cheer me up. A few months after I met Marele I told her that I thought I knew from somewhere but wasn't sure where and then one day was reading my Patriarchal Blessing and realized that she had typed it back in 1970 when we attended church at the Turtle Creek building. I'm sure she typed quite a few. Marlene followed Christ's example to love one another and serve everyone that needed. I never heard the word "No" from her. She loved doing the Lord's work and going to the temple. When we would have singles meeting at Sister Hall's home we enjoyed sharing the gospel and our life stories. She loved talking about her family, her sons Brent, Brian and daughters Bonnie and Barbara and all her grandchildren. I was blessed and honored to have been of service to Marlene when she needed us. I was one of many who enjoyed going to her home and spent time with her and Brent. We enjoyed sharing each other's family stories. She never wanted me to go and would ask if I would give her one of my back rubs. We surprised her on her birthday last year when some of us got together and brought her a big lunch, cake and ice cream and spent most of the day with her. She had tears in her eyes and we told her not to cry but she said they were happy tears. I'm glad I have a picture of that day. I love Sister Guinn and i"m going to miss her very much but I know she's with Heavenly Father and we will see each other again some day. I pray for her children and may the Lord be with them and may they find solace in the fact that she lived her life serving God and being an example to all of of us that had the privilege of knowing her.

Marlene was the absolute nicest, warmest and friendliest person around. She was always a joy to be around. She made the absolute best bread and pies anywhere.
A precious angel of love, kindness and everpresent dedication was called to her Heavenly home. Sister Guinn, my devoted sweet friend and visiting teacher over 40 years brought smiles, hopes encouragement and a wonderful powerful testimony together with so much gentle care into my life, bringing light into the darkness and making the sun shine brighter. She was always on a mission for Heavenly Father and had a deep insight when and where help was needed. She took me under her wing from accompanying me to the washeteria at one in the morning, watching for my safety, listening and sharing wisdom, bringing smiles , wiping tears, giving hugs and praying together. Many a stormy winter night she fought thru the snow putting happy note and cookies or her delicious banana bread on the door knob. Many a lonely birthday, she was there bringing joy and smiles and blessings. I remember her playing the organ in praise of Heavenly Father and the music streamed up towards heaven, her heart and love was in every precious sound. Her deep love and concern for all the souls she came across was never ending. She is very much missed and my deep gratitude to all of her sweet family for sharing her . Marlene was the most Christian person I have ever known. Even in the face of trial, she maintained a positive atttitude and even when she had her own aches and pains, she was always there to help if needed. I will miss her a lot."
I was a recipient of Marlene's wonderful Christmas letters,I felt privileged to be included in the news of her beloved family ..I'd look forward to the letters every Christmas.I was blessed to have her as my visiting teacher. She was a great listener and friend always there for me when I needed comfort .& a good example of applying the gospel of Jesus Christ ..For a few months of her life I took the opportunity to serve her. .Mondays was set aside for her I'd tell her.I'd take lunch we ate talked & reminisce her short term memory was not good bur her long term was great! She'd ask if she already said or ask about something & I'd say its okay, cause i'm having forgetful moments aswell so we'd laugh.I'd wash ,dry, & comb her hair. massage her neck,& sore back
Brent had gotten her things to help her memory.& had the moved the piano to the kitchen dinning area & at times she played & we would sing, Brent had provided her with Spanish work books & she was good & crossword puzzles as well. I remember When I took a Chinese checkers I taught her & second game she won! I thought to myself I'm not that good a teacher Marlene is just real smart.we laughed about things and I'd bring 50 piece puzzles &word search puzzles we each worked on one time went fast & we enjoyed every minute..and when it was time for me to go, she'd say i wish yo didn't have to go or I wish you'd stay .It was so hard to leave my friend.i loved her so much.my comfort is that she lives & I'll get to see her again one day.& she now waits for the resurrection and has family there in the spirit world. Marlene’s heart was full of love for each member of her family as well as for each member of her ward family. It was my privilege to service in Relief Society with her for several years.
