Martha Joy and I were second-cousins. We were near the same age and good friends while growing up. I have many fond memories from our childhood of the times we spent playing and visiting together at my Aunt Olga’s house. My Aunt Olga was “Mammy” to Martha Joy (her grandmother), as well as to some other family members. My mother (Elsie Coyle Buhler) was my Aunt Olga’s sister and Martha Joy’s great-aunt from the Coyle family. Martha Joy and her Mammy also visited us at our home in Brownwood, Texas. She was a real “Joy” to be around.Eventually, our lives took different paths. We communicated very little after the high school years. After many many years, I was very fortunate to see and visit with her briefly at the sad occasion of her dad’s funeral. JC Richards was a first-cousin from the Coyle family. Now so soon afterwards, I am very sorry to hear of Martha Joy’s passing.Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the Visitation or Graveside Service. I send my heart-felt thoughts and prayers to Martha Joy’s immediate family. I am sure that our extend family share in my condolences.Coyle Buhler
