Mary was a very good neighbor. She lived across the street from me. I always enjoyed visiting with her. In fact, she was a good friend to most of our close neighbors. One sometime humorous minor problem was that for awhile she had trouble backing out of her driveway and came very close to cars if someone was parked on my side of the street. When she began to have more difficulty walking, she started backing into her own driveway which put the driver's side of the car closer to her front door and she could also drive straight out of her driveway onto Shook Ave. Mary was always well dressed and I know she tried to keep in shape as much as she could. She and Alice Summers were very close friends and I remember seeing them take walks together and that they were members of Baylor's rehab pool. I exercised with them several times when I was in rehab after my stroke 3 years ago. I hated to see her move to Houston, but I knew it was much better for her to be close to her family. My deepest symphony to her family and friends. She will be sorely missed. Patsy Eldridge
