Mrs. Floyd was my third grade teacher at M.B. Lamar Elementary in Mesquite in 1960-61. I turned 65-years-old in December. My family moved from Dallas to Mesquite and she made the transition an easy and good one. She was very kind, encouraging, patient, and committed to each student. I will always remember her smile, her laugh, and her jovial way of teaching. Mrs. Floyd is a teacher that shaped my life and gave me more than just reading, writing and arethematic. She was our friend, mother and guiding light while we were at school. There was a genuine bond with each student. I will always remember her and be thankful that our paths crossed. R.I.P. dear lady. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God console each of you and may the good memories sustain you always until you meet again. Amen.
