Mary Ruth Pope's Obituary
Mary Ruth Pope, 89, of Richardson, TX passed away October 15, 2022. She was born in Groesbeck, Texas April 1, 1933 to Rupert and Eunice Jackson Gunn.
She was proceeded in death by parents, Rupert and Eunice Jackson Gunn, and brothers and sisters, J.R. Gunn, Dorman Ray Gunn, Norma Jean Grantham, and Joy Juanita Fox.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne Van Meter and husband Rusty Van Meter, Dianne Pope, and grand-daughter Lauren Hoover and husband Matt Hoover.
Mary Ruth was a public school teacher for 30 years. She taught at Canyon Creek Elementary in Richardson for 17 years.
She loved being active in her church, First Baptist Richardson, especially working with Smile Stitchers, Kid’s Hope, Apple Tree Birthday Group, and Children’s Church.
Mary Ruth was also an avid gardener and loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.
