I have a copy of this photo prominently displayed. It was taken by Pat when she brought Aunt Mazie to visit her older sister, Jessie (my mother). Pat was determined to bring the two sisters together again after several years of health issues by both kept them apart. The visit proved timely, as my mother died just two years later. Aunt Mazie truly had a 'presence'. She was never overlooked in a crowd. Her hair, makeup, jewelry, stylish clothing – and 'attitude' made her a striking beauty. She was generous with praise and commendation when it was earned, but equally vocal with her opinion or advice when she was convinced it was needed. You never got flattery with Aunt Mazie. You always knew where she 'stood'. She was independent, yet DEpendent on Uncle L.A.. They truly were 'one' TOGETHER and only 'half a whole' APART. My fervent desire is to be privileged to see Aunt Mazie 'awaken' from the sleep of death, with the opportunity of never having to grow old or die again.
