Mazelle Peters' Obituary
Mazelle Peters was born December 26, 1928, in Lee County, Mississippi, to Claude and Bertha Fox. She was one of eight children. Mazie, as she was known, met and married L.A. Peters, Jr. on August 7, 1944. They were devoted parents to their two children, Donny and Patsy. Mazie and L.A. lived most of their lives in the Lake Jackson/Clute area but chose in later years to relocate to Dallas to be closer to their children. L.A. and Mazie were known for their unique bond of love for one another. Thus, it is hard to think of Mazie and not reflect in part on L.A. They were inseparable. They loved to dance and were members of a dance group in Lake Jackson. Even as they lived at the Windsor Senior Living they would often dance to the applause of fellow residents. Mazie was a lifelong member of the Jehovah’s Witness community. She had strong biblical convictions that she gladly shared with others. She expressed that her hope was to “stand again” based on the biblical term “resurrection”. Mazie, in later years, suffered from the debilitating disease of Alzheimer’s. With this in mind her family would like to ask that in lieu of sending flowers that a donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Events/Tributes-AlzheimersChampions?pxfid=232035&fr_id=1060&pg=fund Mazie fell asleep in death August 13, 2014, with her dying words to her son who was with her, “tell them I love them.” She is survived by her two children Don Peters of Waxahachie and Pat Matyastik of Dallas. She has many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. All will truly miss her. A family grave-side service will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Garden of Faith on Saturday, October 4th, at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243
