Merril Majory Grey's Obituary
Our beloved mother, Merril Majory Grey, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026, in her cherished garden, surrounded by family as she held their hands and listened to hymns. Merril was born on December 9, 1932, in Mount Airy, to Florence Maude Bell and Alvin Williams. Merril devoted her life to her family, her faith, and serving others. She raised her four children with love, grace, patience, and steadfast, Christ-centered strength. She was an active member of her church community and found joy in reading her Bible, praying, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She also poured her heart into caring for others and was a blessing to many through the Bible studies and prayer groups she faithfully led over the years.
Merril is lovingly remembered by her children, Mark, Bridgette, Christine, and Robert; her grandchildren, Kathrynne, Philip, Michael, Emma, and Isabel; her great-grandchildren, Noa and Julian; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Maude Bell, and her beloved husband, Alvin L. Grey.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Merril’s long and faithful life. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Restland Funeral Home.
