Mike was a man of energy and optimism. Like any true Science Fiction he thought that science fiction could save the world. He did something that folks from Plano don't do. He started his own magazine --and it went from a black-and-white volume that showcased his comics to a magazine that attracted major writers and artists from around the world. That, my friends, is NOT easy. But Mike's great virtue was having an open mind. He listened and he could laugh at himself, which is the real sign of a big man. He is the proof that a good smart hard-working human can change the world. My life was better for having known him, and that is something I can't say often. With all my heart I hope the best in life for the humans that loved him -- because I know they are good humans for having made that choice. His memory is a blessing to us.
