Michael William Luther's Obituary
Michael William Luther: A Life Lived with Love, Laughter and Adventure
Michael Luther passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, contagious laughter, and countless cherished memories with those who knew him best.
Mike’s laugh could light up any room and his genuine smile welcomed you into his world. Friends often said he was the smartest man they knew—a serial entrepreneur who served as President, Owner, and CEO of multiple ventures, yet for all his business acumen, Mike was equally at home with his hands, always ready to fix whatever needed fixing, always there to help someone he loved.
Mike’s happiest moments were spent outdoors—hunting with his boys, casting a line while fishing, and carving fresh powder while snow skiing in Winter Park. A true sports enthusiast, he played hockey well into his 50s, holding his own among players decades younger. His passion for the game, particularly hockey, was matched only by his love for recounting stories about hunting expeditions, business ventures, travels, and sports triumphs.
The greatest love story of Michael's life was the one he lived with his wife of 32 beautiful years, Claudia. They were inseparable—where you found Mike, you'd find Claudia. They worked together, lived together, and played together, each moment a gift neither would trade. A poet at heart, he shared his deepest thoughts and love through written words that will be treasured forever.
"Every moment with him was a gift," Claudia says. "He was the love of my life and I wouldn't trade a single second of our beautiful life together."
Son of the late Maurice and Mary Luther, Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Claudia; his children, Michael (Rae), Greg (Maritza), Brad, Patrick (Ana), and Jennifer (Cole); his grandchildren, Garrett, Ryan, Tean, Quinn, Chase, Olivia, Jack, Graham, Christian, Cade, Adrian, Lane, and Hallie; siblings, Marilynn Lomangino, Maurice (Mary) Luther, Melanie (Paul) Hoy, Mark (Patricia) Luther, Mary Kelly, Margaret Daugherty; brother-in-law, Robert McIlroy Sr.; sister-in-law Pam (Ken) and his mother-in-law, Audrey, who was also a dear friend. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his siblings, Maureen McIlroy, Miles and Matthew Luther.
We celebrate a man who loved big, never met a challenge he couldn't tackle, and who leaves this world having “done it his way”.
