Monte was a good friend of mine and my father. Both veterans. I took Monte on my motorcycle when he was in his 80's and he loved it. Monte was very funny and kind. I will miss him. Bruce Hopewell.

My family met Monte many years ago in a hospital in San Antonio. I think it was his mother in the hospital. My mother was there also. We went home to Eden. where he visited often my parents both men had been in the same places in WW11. Later after my parents died, he came to visit with my husband and me. He and my husband spent many hours hunting and visiting. Monte was a well traveled and had hunted many places. He was a very interesting man. I know he will be missed. My husband passed away 8 years ago and we kept in contact usually at Christmas. I am Carolyn Sorrell in Eden, Texas.
