Nancy Ann Turner's Obituary
Nancy Johnson Turner of Garland, a perfectly delightful lady, passed away on November 5, 2016. She was born March 1, 1933 in McKinney, Texas to J. M. Johnson and Ruby Martin Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, F. M. Turner. They were married September 1, 1953. Nancy graduated from Garland High School in 1950 and from The University of North Texas in 1953. She taught in the Garland Independent School District for 31 years – 23 years at Bussey Middle School and eight years at North Garland High School. She impacted many lives during her years as a classroom teacher. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garland since 1942. Nancy Turner is survived by her sons, Kent Turner and his wife, Esther, Kyle Turner; grandchildren, Kurt Turner, Keri Laney her husband, Ryan and Logan Turner. Two great grandchildren, Emma and Aaron Laney; her brother, Homer Johnson, and her sister-in-law, Zoe Ashby also survive her. + Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Garland.
