Nelda Neale's Obituary
Nelda Lee Parks Neale, a lifelong resident of Dallas, Texas, has left us. Born Nelda Lee Parks on June 29, 1928 to Marie and Frederick Parks, Nelda passed away surrounded by her family on March 25th, 2016. Loving wife of Bill R. Neale, she is survived by her devoted husband Bill of 67 years, their three children Nan, Kurt, and Leslie, daughter-in-law Julie, six grandchildren and three beloved nieces, Nelda, Sue and Sandy. Nelda was an indomitable spirit with a great love of life and a winning smile that was hard to forget. She was a proud alum of North Texas State University achieving both a bachelor’s degree and a masters in Speech. She started her teaching career in Gladewater, Texas. Upon moving with Bill to Dallas, she transitioned to mothering fulltime and supporting her husband, Bill’s blooming art career. Throughout her life, Nelda was an active member and volunteer in her community, especially known for her energetic and vivacious nature. She was a past President and a current Committee Chairperson of the Dallas County Council of Republican Women, a present member of the Bent Tree Garden Club and a noted honoree of the CAN Hall of Fame for her years of service coordinating local and national media and mental health projects on the awareness of destructive cults. Always a loyal friend, Nelda shared lifelong friendships with many including her sisters from Delta Chi Delta. She will be greatly missed though her impact on the lives of those who knew and loved her will never be lost. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Abby Chapel, Restland 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas, Texas. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Nelda’s name to National Kidney Foundation at www.nkft.org and the Dallas Fire Department Station 7 at https://dallfirerescue.kimbia.com/dallfirerescue
