She also leaves behind about eleven first cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-greats and nephews, a brother-in-law, and a sister-in-law. Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Barnes. Not to forget a multitude of close friends. Nora loved God, was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and loved going to church. She loved her Waterview church family. Nora liked to make sure that her hair was rolled on Saturday night and that her nails were painted for church every week. She loved traveling the world, and traveled extensively through many countries in Europe and Asia as well as visiting almost all of the states in the U.S. She was a devoted mother to her children, and nana to her all grandchildren. Nora called every one of her children, grandchildren, and their spouses, and great-grandchildren on their birthdays to sing happy birthday. She never missed sending birthday cards to all family members and many close friends. She loved writing letters to those friends that needed encouragement during hard times and sicknesses. She made sure that everyone felt special and loved. Many people feel like she was their second mom and she loved that they felt that way about her. She loved cooking and providing meals, homemade bread, cinnamon rolls, and pies and giving them to those in need. We are truly blessed to have had such a kind, generous, caring, and devoted example of unconditional love in our lives. No wonder there has been such an outpouring of love for Nora Barnes.
