I remember Norma Jean when she came to visit our family in Bakersfield California, I think I was a freshman in high school or maybe the second year, she went with me to the Tejon Theater to see the movie "Rock Around the Clock", she got a big laugh about the way the teen age kids were acting in the lobby between movies, all of us trying to act tough and "Cool" for the time. Just a note to say that my memory of Norma is that her husband, Ed – a friend when we were both young and attending young adult activities at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Dallas – was so caring and thoughtful of her, even many years later when both were ill and in separate wings of C.C. Young. I never knew Norma – I'd left Dallas shortly after college – but on my last visit with Ed last year, he suggested we have a "picnic" the next time I came, and include Norma, arranging for her to be there. That was our plan, but Ed became ill before we could have the picnic. Even in his own illness, he never forgot or stopped trying to take loving care of her.
