Norma Jean Merritt's Obituary
Norma Jean was born August 26, 1928 in Ranger, Texas and passed away on July 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Hopkins Merritt, her parents Carl and Blanche (Niver) Heinlen, and brother James Heinlen. Norma Jean began her career of teaching at Vickery Elementary School. She later taught at Walnut Hill Elementary before retiring from DISD. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Etta Heinlen and niece Holly Heinlen of Phoenix,Arizona. Also, a nephew, Hunter Heinlen of Somerville, Massachusetts. Norma Jean will be remembered as a loving wife and devoted friend. Private burial will be in Ranger, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of CCYoung Retirement Center. It is located at 4829 West Lawther Drive on the 2nd floor of the Lawther Point East building. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
