Opal was a very special lady – I enjoyed visiting with her and admired her greatly. She was a wonderful example for all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Opal was a very special lady, and a loving and caring cousin. We will miss her each and every day, her phone conversations, our visits, our birthday lunches, her knowledge of family history, our visits to the cemeteries, and our work on family genealogy. She was admired greatly and will never be forgotten. Betty and Charles Merritt, Cindy and Jim
Opal was one of my dearest friends. We spent many good times together. I will miss her so much, but will always remember all the pleasant times we shared. I know my family will miss her too.
What an incredible woman Opal was. I only had met her three different times over the past few months. She really left an impression on me as a woman who had great integrity and character with an heavenly aura about her. I know that the Lord has his arms opened wide to receive Opal as did all the holy angels. She is now singing with the heavenly host. Thank you Opal for the goodness you showed all of us and the way we should live while you were here with us. Gene Golden
Our dearest Aunt Opal, who was really my 2nd cousin but out of so much respect i always called her my Aunt! She was such a beautiful & sophisticated & mature woman who loved us all & treated us all with utmost kindness & respect! I began talking by telephone many times with her in 2007, selfishly to do research for our family tree. However upon getting to know her & actually being blessed to visit her in 2008 we became close friends & she shared mountains of wisdom & family reflections that imparted much more to my heart than all the dates & facts about ancestry research! We shared such special moments in dire times of my most frightening health crisis' & her encouragement & even stern counsellings helped me stay focused on what was important & rejuvenated my faith in our heavenly Father & endure! How can i ever thank her for so much in such little time, i will always wonder! I would thank her to the outer limits of all the universes & galaxies within & back! Her importance in my life will be forever engraved on my heart! Also im so ever grateful to her son for his extensive love & care for her especially the last 5 mos when he was always ready to be there for her every beckoning & phone call day & night & even putting his own life & needs & wants on hold JUST to tenderly support & care for her!!! Thank you also for all those who lived nearby & those who travelled from other states to see her & honor her & celebrate her special times & oh how i wished i could have been in attendance too! Forever yours, our sweet beautiful lady, you certainly put your stamp on the lives of our family & your community & even on the states of Texas & Alabama! Stacy Gray-Dunkerly & by extension HER Helen & my mom & Gerald Gray & family
I have always admired you and try to follow in your footsteps, as you were an incredible role model. Thanks for always remembering birthdays and holidays, and being such a good friend to everyone in the neighborhood. There's no doubt you're sitting with God right now! You were such a strong woman who stood up for what was right!! Love you and miss you, Ms. Opal!
We will miss her telephone calls, just checking to see if everyone is okay. She has been a blessing to us over the years, a loving and caring Aunt. She has always talked about family and the history of the Bolton's and Langston's. How much she loved and missed her family. She will join Cecil, her parents and her brother and sisters, they will have a lot to talk about. Aunt Opal was loved and will missed by one and all.
I will miss our phone conversations, you were a real inspiration to my life, and I will cherish our little saying of you being my Grandma, I will always love you and will miss you terribly, You took a piece of my heart with you, I will never forget you
