Patsy Lou Woodson's Obituary
It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Patsy Woodson who left this world peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 18, 2025 at the age of 97.
Born on August 12,1928 in Gainesville, Texas, Patsy lived a life full of grace, strength, kindness, and humor. She was the heart of our family—the one we all turned to for comfort, wisdom, and a good laugh.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Emmett Woodson her daughter, Vanessa Burris her grandson, Brandon Burris; and other cherished family members who have gone before her. We take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.
Patsy is survived by her daughter Laurisa Hobbs of Dallas, TX, son Brad Woodson and wife, Ann of Dallas, TX, James Burris (Vanessa) of Dallas, TX and Angelica Bhagat and husband Rohit of Mesquite, TX. Nothing brought her more joy than being “Momo” to her six grandsons, Brandon Burris, Clayton Burris and wife Lindsay, Austin Copeland, Baron Copeland and wife McKinsey, Taylor Woodson and fiancée Coral Herman, Blake Woodson and seven great-grandchildren, Vanessa James Burris, Bryson Burris, Lola Burris, Emery Kate Copeland, Walker Copeland, Madison Copeland and Ellie Woodson. Her family was her world, and she poured her love into each generation with selfless devotion.
These simple pleasures brought her great happiness and reflected her love of connection, laughter, and friendship. Whether she was reading, playing tennis, playing bridge, shopping, or having lunch with her girlfriends, her presence brought warmth and laughter to every room. She was gracious, nurturing, protective, deeply faithful, and above all—loved unconditionally.
In her final months, Patsy faced her illness with quiet courage, dignity, and unwavering faith. She made her own choices with strength and peace, inspiring all of us with her resilience.
More than anything, she taught us about love—how to give it, how to live it, and how to share it freely. Her legacy will continue in the hearts of all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. Visitation is Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4:30pm to 7:00pm in the Begonia Suite and Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2025 at 10:30am in the Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or simply do something kind for someone in her memory.
Momo—you are missed beyond words and loved beyond measure.
