Growing up in Corinth and being neighbors with the Layfields, I recall one day when I was about 4 and spent the afternoon with Lottie and Gene. Lottie taught me how to make deviled eggs. Gene encouraged me by eating a lot of deviled eggs and telling me that they were delicious. Peggy and her sisters attended Dad's (Joe Lee Fox) funeral in 2008 and we will always appreciate the imprint that their family has made on our lives. Love, Shirley Fox Watson
We were blessed to visit with Peggye at Patti and Rich's home at Christmastime. Peggye was excited to show me the photo album on Patti's I-Pad that she put together for her. She proudly showed me the pictures of she and her family and the wonderful memories she had. She was a remarkable woman with an infectious smile. We will miss her kind spirit. Our families were longtime neighbors and best friends in rural Decatur. I have wonderful memories growing up and admiring beautiful Peggye and her older sisters. We all attended Corinth Baptist Church and enjoyed delicious ice cream socials in Lottie and Gene's backyard.
