Raymond Joe Butler, 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, in Farmers Branch, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1927, to his loving and thoughtful parents, H.H. Butler and Alice Tate Butler in Dallas, Texas. Raymond Joe Butler will be sincerely missed by his loving family, his devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.He married Louise Jenkins on July 31, 1948 (DIV, 1955) in Dallas, TX. He then married Geraldine Slovak on July 19, 1957 (DIV, 1979) in Dallas, TX. He worked for Texas & Pacific Railway (20yrs), Republic National Bank(4yrs) & Wyeth Pharmaceuticals(17yrs).He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1947 as a Radarman 3rd Class. He took part in the first Postwar Atomic Bomb Test at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific.He was survived by sons Steven Butler(wife Anita), Richardson, TX, Daryl Butler(wife Ginger), Farmers Branch, TX, Brandon Butler(wife Jossi), Farmers Branch, TX, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren & 3 step grandchildren.He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson H.S., Dallas(1945), 60yr Boy Scout, Cub Scout & Explorer Leader active in Presbyterian Church as Deacon, Elder & Stephen Ministries. In retirement, he loved to travel, dance, visit the Choctaw Casino in Oklahoma, and spend time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed.Visitation for Raymond Joe Butler will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home.
