Rebekah Holmes, born February 11, 1913; Passed through Heaven’s gate on March 29, 2009. Becky was born in the country near Pattonville, Texas and grew up in that area. She completed her nursing education at Saint Joseph’s hospital Read Obituary
Rebekah was such a sweet, happy lady. She always talked to Mother while they were both at Veranda. Rebekah was so proud of her family. She talked often of Mack and all of the red-headed girls. Erin was a favorite of hers. We will all miss seeing Rebekah in the Veranda halls. Sincerely, Huggy Nelson
Becky was so special, she will be missed by all her friends at St. Christopher's. Her smile and joy was so evident and you always felt better after spending time with her. She was also so wise, and practical! I remember once we were concerned about having the church office open when doing cash deposits. We were sitting around the office trying to come up with different security procedures when Becky spoke up: "I lock the door and if I don't know the person coming in, I just tell them 'Come back later!' Perfect! We will always have these "Becky-isms" and smile as we remember. The world is now a sadder place because she's left us, but Heaven is rejoicing because she's there now. Miss Becky will live on in our hearts and memories. She was a faithful member of St.Christopher's Episcopal Church since the mid-1950's where she also served as the Parish Secretary for many many years after her retirement from nursing. She loved her family and we all felt like we knew each and everyone of her nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews, and great-great nieces/nephews, etc. She was very proud of the family. Miss Becky told the best stories of life in East Texas and of her beloved brother, sister/brother-in-law and the 'sister' she was raised with. We can only aspire to have Miss Becky's fiery spirit and unforgettable personality well into our 90's. Rest in Peace and Love Miss Becky.
Beck was a very special lady who will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Such a special journey she has gone on, and I know the angels are singing.
