Rebekah Holmes' Obituary
Rebekah Holmes, born February 11, 1913; Passed through Heaven’s gate on March 29, 2009. Becky was born in the country near Pattonville, Texas and grew up in that area. She completed her nursing education at Saint Joseph’s hospital in Paris, Texas. After moving to Dallas as a young nurse, she served the community in a hospital setting and then spent the next forty-five years working in the private practices of several Dallas physicians. Becky faced many obstacles, losses and health issues with grace and optimism. She was a great example to her nieces and nephews and to many friends of all ages. After her retirement from nursing, becky served for many years as a full-time administrative volunteer at her church, Saint Christopher Episcopal. She worked hard, served joyfully, laughed often and loved her friends, family and her Lord and Savior. ” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith… ” 2 Tim 4:7 Many nieces and nephews mourn Becky’s passing: Mack and Terri Holmes, Fred, Brenda and Scholle Brown, Erin Brown, Adam, Amy and Will Brown, Sara, James, Kate and Claire Graham, Abby, Michael, Caroline, Ava, and Brody Yocum. Memorials may be made to Saint Christopher’s Church.
