I remember my first encounter with Mr. Gentry, he was wearing his Dallas Cowboy cap and I knew I was going to have fun with him being a Washington Redskin fan. Not long after that I saw that contagious smile and grin of his. I will certainly miss this fun loving gentleman from Texas. My thoughts are with you in this time of sorrow.

Dear Gentry Family, it was my privledge and honor to have known Rex, even though it was for a short time. He was a grand member of the Greatest Generation. I extend my deepest sympathy to you all. Fly on, Rex.
Rex, I will miss your contagious smile and wild courageous spirit! Even on my worst day, you managed to make me smile. I feel honored to have been a part of your life, even if it was for a short while. I will miss you dearly. May you Rest In Peace. Love you always.
Personally, I didn’t know Rex long, but he managed to work his charm and smile into my heart. A man of many saying’s, a strong Texas soul, and a gentle heart. I feel honored to know him and learn about his life and his family. REX you will be missed and thank you for your positive spirit.

To the entire Gentry crew: I am so sorry for your loss of a very special and talented man. I was lucky enough to meet Rex and the whole Gentry crew when he first transitioned to VA from Texas. His Texas never truly left him as he’d sit covered up with blanket over him and a coat on with his Dallas Cowboys hat on his head. He always made me smile and we laughed together often. He had a spice in him that is one of a kind. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Until we meet again T Rex,Melinda
Never a more unlikely duo then a man from south Texas and a girl mechanic but it worked. Rex Gentry was one of the best men I have ever known. He was my mentor ,friend and adopted family member. I quote some of his sayings all the time like”if you don’t like my peaches don’t shake my tree”. I use to tell him I didn’t know what Continental would do with out him and he would say “ it’s just like taking your hand out of a bucket of water”. A truly great man that was my pleasure to have called my friend and that bucket of water has a huge hole in it.
