Richard William Facetti's Obituary
On April 23, 2021, Richard William Facetti, husband, father, and career military veteran, passed away at the age of 87. Richard Facetti was born to Italian Immigrants on April 27, 1933 in Dagus Mines, PA. His father, Florindo Valente Facetti worked in the Coal Mines and his mother Irene Ticcosi Facetti was a homemaker, raising three children. Richard joined the military when he was 17 years old in 1950. He was active in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After 21 years of dedication and service, he retired honorably as a Master Sergeant in the United States Airforce in 1971. Mr. Facetti was married to Virginia Ethel Whittington-Facetti for 48 years until her death in 2003. Together they raised two daughters, Donna Wright of Rowlett, TX, and Melissa Waldrum of Houston, TX. They have two grandsons, Tony Wright, and Brayden Waldrum, and two granddaughters, Angie Adair and Chonna Nelson. In addition, Mr. & Mrs. Facetti have 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Richard had a passion for gardening and prided himself on his lawn. He worked the New York Times Crossword Puzzle every Sunday and finished them most of the time! He also loved to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle as he went to the gym almost every day of his adult life. Equally important to him was his Roman Catholic faith. He attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, Texas from 1980 to present. Along with his parents and beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his older sister Mary Margaret Facetti of Dagus Mines, PA. Mr. Facetti is survived by his younger sister Linda Johnson of Ridgway, PA and only nephew Robert William Johnson of Southlake, TX. Dad was a tough guy, he fought hard. There will never be another like him. Fly High Dad!

A private funeral service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, followed by burial at Restland Cemetery.
