Richard Mark Phiffer's Obituary
Richard Mark Phiffer was born in Clarksville, Arkansas and passed away on March 2, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. Ric is survived by his beloved, Leslie Keyser and her children Josh and Cody Keyser; son, Phoenix Dalton Phiffer; daughter-in-law, Haylee and granddaughter, Evelyn Phiffer; mother and father, Sandra and Bill Phiffer; sisters, Diane Lundy and Sharon Duncan (Drue); nephews, Cody Fowler (Susan), Logan Duncan; nieces, Elizabeth Files (Jason), Melody Maib (Jon), nine great-nieces and nephews, our Showdog family and hundreds of loving fans and friends . Ric was a talented musician on the guitar, mandolin, fiddle, flute, and nearly any instrument he picked up, with a passion for performing all of his life. The bands he fronted included Citadel, Phoenix, Ricochet, Deuces Wild, Full Circle, the Tornado Brothers, and Cheap, Fast, and Easy. He served as Entertainment Director for the 1880’s western theme park south of Dallas, “Big D”, loved setting up and running sound for other musicians (such as Hank Thompson when he was at Southern Junction), playing with Shake Russell, jamming with other performers and his many talented friends. He loved performing with his Dad, who started him on the guitar. The pallbearers will be: Phoenix Dalton Phiffer, David Mills, Thom Caccetta, Jay Fosha, Mike Nelson, Dennis Howard, Tom Duplissey, Buddy Duncan, Rick Yost. The visitation for Richard “Ric” Phiffer will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on March 8, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Richard “Ric” Phiffer will be held at 2:30 Pm on Monday, March 9, 2015 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
