We shared so many fun times with the scout troop. It is hard to believe that he is gone. Since I hadn't heard from you I googled Dick's name and found the obituary. I had left a message for Alan Breitenbeucher at the police department and emailed David Sweany when you first emailed me. I also had notified Troop 291 that he was sick on their email. I am so sorry, We have been together 5l years now so I can imagine what you are going through. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Pat McKee

When I served as Scoutmaster of Troop 291, Dick served as a wonderful advisor and mentor to me. It was clear to me that his passion for the troop and for providing an excellent scouting experience to the boys had not diminished one bit! He was an inspriation to me and made me want to be a better scoutmaster and a better person. I will miss his passion for scouting and the boys. I will miss his kind direction. I will miss Dick. He was highly regarded in the ham radio circle. I connected with him thru Frank, W5RNF (sk), his training classes, Dick furnishing satellite communications during field day, and occaisionally checking into my subvets net.
