Remembering .. "Talkin' to you Richard" .."bout 1958 ..you saved enough money for "us" to go to dinner at a restaurant "very close" to Ft Worth Ave ....you wore a suit and I was "dressed" as well...it was special, we were just about "17", I loved you, life had different roads for us..you were "friend," supporter, classmate and sometimes we melded into "one"and sometimes I was the "worst" I had so much to learn..we sort of knew what the other one was thinking and other times "we were so "royally" "ticked off" "as they said then" with each other and "didn't care" what the "other one was thinkin'.(you were always "kind", I could be the "worst")... all thru it you were the "better of the two of us" I'll never have another friend like you... Will never forget when "we were trying to graduate from Adamson, I was in a real struggle with Miss Underwood.. passing English" I had to have "the grade" ...this was not spelling and short story "writing" It was some sort of how to use English grammar, capitalization, punctuation, pronouns, nouns etc. in the story...I knew I was hanging on by "finger nails" and had only "one more chance" during the test period class, I rushed out of school and you were "talking" to a group of guys from our class, I was "crying" and one of the "guys" said "she is "not gonna graduate"...You ran after me and hugged me, asking me what is it?...I told you "all"...and you comforted me and it "helped", I came back the next day and "passed"...We did graduate from Adamson High School!!!...(*_*)!!!.....you are in my heart daily..
Well, Richard, it is not getting any easier "down here", I know I have to try harder, miss your "stern instructions" to me every morning, and the "love ya" when we would "hang up". "more later" "love ya" !....B
Hey Fraternity brother and friend..we share a wonderful family..both of us truly blessed..your zest for life was always contagious..now rest in the arms of our Lord😊
Richard was always fun and such a great man. He will be missed! God bless.
So sad to hear about Richard’s passing.Even though we didn’t see each other often I still considered him a good friend-I think he felt the same.Last time I saw him was at one of the Adamson monthly lunches. One of the things we used to laugh about was when a group of us painted South Oak Cliff blue/white and somehow Richard missed his ride away from the covert activity! Luckily I saw him and picked him up in my 47 Chevy!Mission accomplished! My sincere condolences to his family.Ken Dawson
We were Adamson High School friends, I could tell him anything and he listened and told me "whether it was worth" all my "hand wringing"..He didn't have to say much, he just looked at me and didn't look away. Oh, Richard, I will miss you!!! Barbara
