Rita Joyce Aucoin's Obituary
Rita Joyce LeBlanc Aucoin, 81, known to many as “Joyce,” was born on September 26, 1935, and went to meet her Lord and Savior on Oct 10, 2016. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rita LeBlanc, brothers Elton and Lawrence, and sister Thelma Pinder. She is survived by her husband Milton, children Carolyn and Christopher, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter, as well as her brother James LeBlanc and sisters Ethel Palma, Mercedes Pierson, Marian Kimball, and Mary Agnes “Putsy” Sliman. Joyce was born in DeQuincy, Louisiana, and graduated from DeQuincy High School (1953) and LSU (1956). She was married to Milton in 1957, and they spent the majority of their married lives in Dallas, Texas and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life in her family, home, and work. She served in various catholic apostolates and ministries, served as a religious education teacher, and helped found “Sacred Heart Books and Gifts,” a Catholic book and gift store. Joyce was very grateful towards the many dedicated family members, friends, and caregivers who visited, comforted, and cared for her during her illness. A Rosary prayer service will be held at Restland Funeral Home on Oct 13th at 6:00 pm, followed by Visitation from 6:30-8:30. A funeral Mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church on Oct 14 at 11:00 AM, followed by a gathering afterwards in the Fellowship Hall. Entombment to immediately follow at Restland Memorial Park. Restland Memorial Park is located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243, and All Saints Catholic Church is located at 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas, TX.
