Phyllis Tollett
I’m so sorry for your loss. For some reason I was going through my contacts in my phone and came across Bob’s name. I immediately went to Google him and found his obituary. He was a great man and friend to me. We taught together at Floresville. It was my first year of teaching, and I waited until later in my life to begin this career as well. We were instantly drawn to one another and became occasional after school one beer buddies. He came up with a nickname for me and always called me Phyllster, so naturally I would call him Bobster. My husband and girls, which also knew Bob from being in high school at the time, used to get the biggest laugh when we’d get home and Bob would be on our answering machine, showing age there, yelling Phyllster pick up the phone!!!
I would truly love to hear that voice and his words of wisdom and religious comfort tonight. He was the best.
One more thing and then I’ll go. I’m just so sad and upset that I let years go by and didn’t stay in touch with him.
The first time I went into his classroom I almost died laughing. We laminated our things to put up on our classroom walls for our students to refer to. Well, we also have to cut all of those things out too. I walked into his room and there was all of his laminated stuff up on the wall, but all of the extra paper he was supposed to cut off was still hanging from the wall and not just an inch or two, I mean enough to blow in the wind. It was so funny I never forgot that, and he never fixed it. I just loved Bobster. May he rest in peace and God bless all of his family. Phyllis Tollett
