Robert Christopher's Obituary
Robert “Jack” Christopher Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Born October 9, 1926 in Red River County, Texas to Mary Odie and Lemuel Gilmore Christopher, the 6th son of twelve children. He was the apple of Odie and Lem’s eye because he always made them laugh. He became a Christian at an early age and he and “Chris”, his future wife were baptized together in Red River County. He married the love of his life, Christine “Chris” Tippit three days after her birthday, September 16, 1944. He is survived by and left to mourn by his beloved Chris. After a stint in the U.S. Army during WWII, Jack and Chris made their home in Dallas, Texas where the two worked hand in hand to create a home for their five children, 3 daughters Carol, Linda and Jan and 2 sons Robert and Bruce. Never was there a more fun-loving and happy home. Jack leaves to mourn, his five children and Dee, Robert’s wife, and grandchildren, Rob (Tammy), Courtney, Christy, Christopher and twelve great-grandchildren. Jack also leaves behind to mourn, five sisters, Ida Mae, Edith, Sarah Nell, Zella Faye and Bonnie (Lowell) and one brother, Donald. Jack’s humor, kindness and gentle spirit will be missed, but he awaits us for a glorious reunion in heaven. “Goodnight sweet prince and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest…” Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
