Pops was the first "grown up" in my life to know I was pregnant with my daughter.
His joy and excitement still brings a smile to my face.
He loved my like I was his own, and I loved him back.

A glimpse into a life touched by dad's gift of creativity--- 8 year old son of a nurse at the hospital in his last days...a chance meeting.
Love you Pops. Will always cherish the memories of that wonderful house in Decatur, easter egg hunts, Christmas dinners, everything. You taught me to meet adversity with grace, to always keep a positive attitude, and to always keep my faith in Christ. Love you so much. Can't wait to see you again in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Pops taught us so much—whether it was how to tick Mimi off, how to shoot a BB gun, or how to be an outstanding person while staying true to ourselves. His laughter and presence filled every room, his wisdom shaped our lives, and his love will remain in our hearts forever.
Thank you for everything, Pops.

Him playing “the house of the rising Sun” as a kid he told me years later he’d been learning how to play guitar.
There are many more, but that song always makes me think of him.
