John and I enjoyed many a bridge game at your home on Lippitt, adding our young daughter to the three of you sleeping together. Bob and I shared many a laugh through our Press Club and Editor's activities when he was at United Way and afterward. My favorite memory of Bob was when he joined Commercial Metals and they refused to give him a typewriter because he was now a company officer and had a secretary. It took him several months to persuade them that he needed to type his own news stories and not dictate them to his secretary. We shared many of the same interests of art, music, travel, etc. so was sad for him when Jan's situation precluded his enjoyment of those. They were dear friends for many years. I miss both of them.
