Robert Lynn Huggins' Obituary
Robert Lynn Huggins, age 82 of Coppell, Texas passed away on April 2, 2020 of a massive stroke. He was born on January 25, 1938 to William E. and Anna V. Huggins. Robert was a graduate of North Dallas High School in 1957. He was a member of the 1956 North Dallas High School city champions in basketball and baseball.
After high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve for six months. He married Kathryn “Kathy” Freeman and was married until she passed away in 2005. During their loving marriage, they enjoyed going to the University of Texas football games and fine dining. They were married for 39 years. Robert worked at Texas Power and Light for many years before taking early retirement. Then, he returned to work for Chapman Construction Company for several years. During that time he reconnected with his high school friend, Cam Murray Owen. They were loving companions for thirteen years. They enjoyed dancing, watching movies, dining and watching sports, especially the Texas Longhorns. Robert and Cam also enjoyed taking road trips to Choctaw Casino. He spent a lot of time with Cam’s family, Chuck, Allison, Mallory, and Maddie Migl and Brett, Melody, Brandon, and Faith Jurick.
Robert was a true, loyal southern gentleman. His laugh was infectious and was always known for his starched jeans and cowboy boots. Robert never missed attending the Texas State Fair. He spent a lot of time reading books and watching films about WWII.
Robert was truly blessed with family and many dear friends. He remained very close to his neighbors of more than forty years, Keith and Suzanne Wenzel and their sons Brad, Casey, Cody, and families.
Robert is survived by his former brother and sister in law, Robert “Butch” and Sondra “Kay” Freeman, the Wenzel’s, and Owen family.
Unfortunately we are unable to have a public memorial or burial service due to the COVID-19 virus.
