So sorry to learn of the passing of our dear friend and colleague last Friday. I first met Bob at a Human Resources training session in 1972 when he was an Investment Manager with the Ford Dealer Development (DD) Leasing Office and I was an Accounting Supervisor with the Ford Division Accounting & Banking Office. He immediately impressed me with the knowledge of the subject we were discussing and the leadership qualities he displayed. One short year later I was transferred to the New York DD Office and in 1974 went to work for Bob as a DD Leasing Accounting Representative.
He was one of the best bosses I ever worked for, always supportive and eager to share his vast knowledge and expertise to help me and others develop our skills. During our careers are paths crossed many times as he became the DD Branch Manager in Pittsburgh and later Dallas and my career advanced with assignments twice in Ford Truck Retail Operations, Finance Staff, DD Investment Services and finally DD Branch Manager in New York and later Philadelphia.
Bob always seemed to have a smile on his face and a good word for everyone. His quick wit and humor always abound when you were in his company and sometime he would utter something in mixed company that might have been outrageous and unexpected but always in a good way. He was always fun to be around.
Bob was one of the most devout Christians I have ever known and a wonderful family man devoted to his wife Amy and their children. He would often speech of his devotion to his church and I know he was a positive inspiration to many who knew and loved him.
Linda & I want to extend our condolences to Amy and the family in this difficult time , but rest assured he is in God's capable hands!
