Robert Bruce Wilson's Obituary
Robert Bruce Wilson was born on June 13, 1928 in Manila, Philippines and passed away on November 17, 2020 in Richardson, Texas. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Baum Wilson; Father Harold N. Wilson; mother Nora Knudstad Wilson; brothers, John Wilson, and Richard Wilson.
Robert was an active member of the St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder, Treasurer, and Sunday School Teacher. He was also an active member of the Richardson Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Scottish Rite. He was an Eagle Scout, and was proud of the fact that his son and grandsons continued the scouting tradition. He served our country as an officer in the Army Signal Corp. He co-founded two businesses, Wilson Company and Discount Model Trains, both in Addison, Texas. His passions included traveling, model trains, building things, and working with people. He loved his family and seeing his children and grandchildren at piano, dance, choir, soccer, football, baseball and school and scouting events. He never met a stranger, loved learning new things, and sharing stories and knowledge. His favorite toast was, “To the best people I know. MABUHAY!”
Robert is survived by wife, Linda Pelfrey; daughter Betty Wilson and husband David Wilmoth, of Corpus Christi, Texas; son Russell Wilson and wife Lisa Wilson, of Plano, Texas; daughter Nancy Wilson and husband Larry Ross of Arlington, Texas; son Joseph Pelfrey and wife Sharon Pelfrey, of Euless, Texas; grandchildren Sarah Wilson, Rebecca Wilson, Bradley Bunker, Jared Pelfrey, Samuel Wilson, and Isaiah Ross; great grandchild Elijah Robinson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
A private family service at the graveside will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00pm at Restland Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held in the new year at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church once the church is open and able to schedule.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, Richardson, Texas or to Scottish Rite Hospital Dallas, Texas.
