Dear Jan, Pat, Deb, and Julie, It is hard to believe that someone so vibrant and fun could be gone. He and Helen never missed an milestone or family gathering and were an important part of the family even though they lived far away. He had that special spark of vitality that made him larger than life, full of gumption and fun. I remember one time when we went golfing at a family reunion in Canada. I was a total novice so he was giving me some tips. Everyone stood around and watched your first shot and by some fluke I hit the ball on the green. We had such a good laugh over that! Janet, Patty,Debbie and Julie, I am so, so sorry to hear about Mr. Waffle's passing. I understand how difficult it is ,especially this time of year as my mom passed away Dec .21.'04 . One of my fonest memories of uncle Eddie and a story I've told 100 times happened at our cottage on Mullet Lake. Ed, Helen and the girls had come back to Michigan as they often did one summer. One night after the kids were sent to bed a spirited discussing on the politics of the day begin and went late into the night Ed and my dad both staked out their positions neither one budging. This continued on into the early morning hours, when finally aunt Helen and my mother announced it was time for bed. Reluctantly both men were lead off to bed and finally the house was quiet. This lasted maybe five minutes, Helen must have look away because out came Ed, who was not done with the discussion, who shouts "one more point" after the laughter died done Helen with a much firmer grip took uncle Eddie off to bed. I'll bet Eddie is making one more point with his friend Milt right now.

Dear Pat, Jan, Debbie and Julie, I was very sad to hear the news and my heart goes out to all of you and your families. Uncle Ed was one of my most favorite Uncles because I knew he always spoke his mind – whether you wanted to hear it or not. I'll always remember chatting with him about my job as a computer programmer (way back when) and he asked me how much I made. When I told him, his response was that I make too much money for someone without a degre! LOL – I still don't have that degree, but always laugh when I think about that moment. I will always remember the wonderful smile he freely gave and the genuine interest he had in what you have to say. I love you all… P.J.
