Ross Edward Waffle's Obituary
Ross Edward Waffle, age 84, died peacefully on December 15, 2009, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; survived by daughters Janet (Vic) Derks, Pat (Doug) Traver, Debbie (Paul) Mahoney, Julie (Paul) Baumann, and nine grandchildren. Ed served as a Merchant Marine during WWII. He was a founding member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Richardson, Texas, and of Richardson Sports, Inc. Ed was a past member of Serra International, a Rotary Club Harris Fellow, and former President of the Van Alstyne Rotary Club. He was an avid golfer, passionate about his family, his faith, and promoting vocations to the priesthood. Ed was the life of the party, always with a positive attitude and an infectious laugh. Visitation and Rosary will be Friday, December 18, at 7:00 p.m., Abbey Chapel at Restland Memorial Park. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 19, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Richardson, Texas. Burial will take place at Restland, followed by a reception at the St. Paul Parish Center. Memorials can be made to Holy Trinity Seminary, P.O. Box 140309, Irving, Texas, 75014-0309, 972-438-2212.
