Let’s go back to 1978 when I first met Captain Milligan. I was a 23 year old wet behind the ears Flight Engineer in his Boeing 727 cockpit. Harvey, as I knew him was a fabulous Captain to work with. He was a great pilot and mentor to me. But what I took away from my times spent flying with him was his kindness, gentle but firm personality and his love for our Lord. My father Lloyd Jones was a captain for Braniff at that time as well. I was living at home with my mother and him during my first year as a pilot for Braniff. So, of course we talked shop at home and told “war stories” of flying. When I mentioned that I had just flown a trip with Harvey he had nothing but kind words of praise for him as well. I am a better person for having had the pleasure to meet with and fly with Captain Milligan. May he rest in the peaceful arms of our Lord.
