Ruth Ann Davis' Obituary
On Monday, April 5, 2021, Ruth A. Davis, loving mother and compassionate friend of many passed away at the age of 74. Ruth was born on July 31, 1946 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She grew up in Fort Worth, TX and graduated from Richland High School in 1964. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University in 1968, her Master’s degree from George Washington University in 1971, and her PhD from North Texas University in 1991. She enjoyed her career in academics and was successful for many years working at Texas Woman’s University and the University of Texas at Arlington. After retirement, she pursued her passion to travel and visited many locations including China, Russia, Europe, South and Central America, among others. Ruth cared deeply for others and volunteered her time at a local charity organization. She also enjoyed spending time and traveling with her many loving friends. Ruth’s positive energy and demeanor affected many and she will be greatly missed by all. Ruth was preceded by her parents, Sam and Mary Monschke, as well as her brother Richard. She is survived by her son, Red, and daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Michael Ehrbaker.
