Ruth Lavoy Hill Sartin's Obituary
Born September 5, 1923; Passed away August 4, 2016. Ruth Lavoy Hill Sartin was born in Ft. Worth, TX to William Washington Hill and Lillian Pate Hill. After graduating from North Side High School in Ft. Worth, she began a career helping soldiers in WWII. She cracked eggs all day to make powdered eggs for the troops and trained as a “Rosie the Riveter” for Consolidated Aircraft. Lavoy, as she was known as back then, began working in the printing business, where she met and married the love of her life, James R. Sartin. They started their own printing business, Sartin Litho, which they sold in the 70’s. Jim and Lavoy then continued to work in the printing business until their retirement. Ruth passed from this life after a short battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents and all her siblings, her husband, Jim, and her middle son, James, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Sartin Walley (Barry); her son, Bill Sartin (Shelly); her daughter-in-law, Mimie; and her Stepdaughter, Diana King; her grandchildren, Robbie Lynn, Ashley, Todd, James, Daniel, Dillon, and Camron, and their significant others, Luis, Eboni, Melissa, Caitlyn, and 2 great grandchildren, Ethan and Becca; all of whom she loved very much. A Graveside Service for family and friends will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 10 AM at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Avenue, in Dallas in the Garden of Prayer. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent in Ruth Sartin’s name to Universal Hospice, 1208 Country Club Lane, Ft. Worth, TX 76112.
