I really appreciated getting to know Ron and Bonnie ever since I moved here. I have good memories of us meeting together in the fellowship hall on Wednesday nights. It was there that I got to meet so many of the spiritual leaders at Prestoncrest many who are now with the Lord. Ron being the same age as my mom, I felt a certain kinship to him. I really thought it was cool how he played on a softball team well into his 80’s. He will be missed, however he and Bonnie’s influence will live on.

Ron was a dedicated, committed Christian who served as a great source of inspiration to his spiritual family at Prestoncrest Church of Christ. Also, his love and constant care for and attention to Bonnie was obvious whenever they were together. He always met you with a smile and set a tremendous example as a life-long student and teacher of God’s Word. His energy and enthusiasm was contagious and his impact will live on for all of us who were privileged to know him.

Ron served the church in many roles throughout his lifetime. While at Prestoncrest I had the privilege of supporting Ron as he served as class leader and a teacher. Ron cared a great deal about his leadership, serving quietly and meticulously. I was most touched by Ron’s diligent care and service to his wife Bonnie. I’ve considered Ron a good example, a great encouragement, a friend and a brother. One afternoon in November, Ron and I went out for the afternoon to run errands and to vote. One of the ladies assisting him with voting said of Ron that he was one of our national treasures. She was right.

Ron was one of the friendliest people you would ever meet. He always had a smile for you. A great song leader and class leader. You will never find another as steadfast and true as Ron. I miss seeing the twinkle in his eye when he would talk to you. Rest in Peace dear Ron.
