My name is DeAnn Smith and I recently read of Dr. Hedayati's passing. We were friends while attending Texas Tech; he was my TA in math class. I remember him as a wonderful gentleman with a quick wit and brilliant mind. For all these years I have lived in many cities across the US and still hold dear a small wooden box crafted with special care that was a gift...I am sure it was crafted in Iran. To this day I keep it on my desk with such fond memories and only regret we could not have had a chance to catch up and share the blessings of life we both have had since parting so many years ago. My peace is that he had such a wonderful life in the years since. What a fine man he was to all who knew him! Blessings to all of his family.
